Independent Living is a senior living option that provides meals, cleaning, transportation, and other services. There are no medical staff or health services provided, therefore the cost is more affordable than other senior living options. Residents can hire the health care services needed at their own cost, and a non-medical care company is conveniently located on site seven days per week that offers these services at a discounted price.
FAQ #2: What is included in the monthly rent?
The monthly rent covers daily full breakfast and dinner meals, weekly housekeeping and linen services, complimentary transportation to medical appointments and scheduled outings, all utilities except telephone and Internet, complimentary cable TV, and daily activities, exercise programs, and presentations. These amenities enable residents to eat well and stay physically and mentally engaged, which encourage a healthier lifestyle.
FAQ #3: What does the meal program consist of?
Residents at Discovery Point are provided daily breakfast and dinner meals with flexible choices to satisfy every taste and dietary need. Residents can enjoy a quick continental breakfast on the go, or stay for full breakfast of pancakes, French Toast, scrambled eggs, or many other hearty options that are offered. For dinner, there are daily menu specials, in addition to the optional menu items such as fish, cheeseburgers, salads, and grilled/baked chicken, just to name a few. Most menu items are made from scratch, such as delicious soups, pastas, and other traditional favorites.
FAQ #4: How does the transportation program work?
Transportation at Discovery Point is complimentary and consists of scheduled medical transportation four days per week within a six-mile radius, as well as daily shopping routes that go to banks, post office, pharmacies, grocery and department stores, shopping malls, and most every place a person needs to go.
FAQ #5: Are pets allowed?
Discovery Point is a very pet friendly community with lush grounds and complimentary pet stations located throughout the property. Pets are limited to a 25-pound weight restriction and require a refundable deposit and current pet records.
After 2.5 years of residency at Discovery Point we are very happy about the decision we made to move here. The staff is very caring and work very hard. We chose Discovery Point because I felt that the all inclusive pay was really good. You get 2 meals, utilities, house keeping once a week, etc. The director is really on top of her game. I have been working closely with Discovery Point in Mesa and would highly recommend for anyone looking for retirement living. I came to Discovery Point in 2015 and really enjoyed my apartment all all of the goings on: bus outings and all of the in-house activities. It is a busy and happy life with many friends. After a few years, I moved to where I thought the grass would be greener. Turns out the grass was only newer, not greener. I moved back here. We have the best Activities Director!
